This would be my presonal opinion, but hearing the same music everytime gets old (in the staging area.) This past parade, the music from the float behind us was more to my liking. Classic rock, some blues (Stevie Ray, Tab Benoit, etc. would be nice. For the parade, the celtic music is appropriate. But, to spice it up, maybe some Dropkick Murphy or Flogging Mollies could be added.
Thanks for the outlet.

Party / dance music in staging. I agree with Mark that we need Celtic, but upbeat. Listen to Seven Nations. I have their ” Factory ” CD and it’s great.

We agree with Mark, we shoudl have more upbeat fun to dance to music during the staging area, such as Rock, 70s, 80s, 90s, a good example is what the FLorians play, they have awesome music for pre-partying.
For the parade up beat Celtic is appropriate of course.

I have seen a great improvement this year in the music and have every expectation that the improvement will continue!
My main suggestion is that the music be up-beat! Wven though I am older than a lot of you, I do not want to have our music seen as a parady of celtic music. There is some great music out there and it seems that Rob is bringing it!

Loved one of the songs about the Shamrockers partying or something, Diane and I said it at the same time that this was a great song. Big improvement in the music, agree with the party music before hand, last few years it was the same songs over and over. This year there has been some good variety, keep it up. Mix it up too, Nicole and I both turned in some mix cd’s a few years ago, if those are still around they’d be fun now…it had 70’s and 80’s party music. I like those compilations that you can buy at Target for $9.99 or the NOW THATS MUSIC series, those are fun. Good Job Rob.

I believe the purpose of the music in the staging area is to get people excited about the parade, and attract other Krewes to our float to share in the comradery of the event. Upbeat, fun, music that attracts others to our float is important, with a braod range of appeal. I know that other krewes typically have a large gatherings of not only their own members, but other krewes having a good time. I believe this should be our goal, and a measure of our success in the choice of music.
During the parade Celtic Music is always well received, and appropriate.
Keep up the good job Rob, it is appreciated!
Thank you for the opportunity to chime in.
